After Highschool I wasn't sure what I wanted to pursue.  I always wanted to be a lawyer but all that schooling just was too much for me to handle!  I turned back to one of my first loves, dogs. My mother had inquired about a grooming course from a very reputable local groomer, Mark Winsor, who would take me on as an apprentice.  I went and did a week trial in his salon and soon fell in love with the job.  After that week I decided to go ahead with the training.  I endured 5 to 6 months of very intensive training that prepared me for all types of scenarios and situations you can be put in as a groomer.  I learned to groom all types of dogs, no matter the temperament, size or breed, Cats, Guinea Pigs, Rabbits, Ferrets and even Birds.  I continued to work in Mark Winsor's Salon for a year and a half after my training was completed, this helped me even more because I got to work under him while still being able to learn new skills and brush up the ones I was already taught.

After that I went to work for a local Poodle Breeder and all breed Groomer, Valerie Reid.  She helped me develop even more by showing me other methods of grooming while still remembering the original ones that I had been shown.  This enables me to meet the needs of various types of clients.

Having worked for two well known groomers it has helped me to learn that there are different types of clients who may prefer different styles and now I can better suit their needs.

Besides my grooming training I have also obtained a Pet First Aid Certificate.  From the Pet First Aid course I can better equip myself for any emergencies that may come up in the salon. I have also attended the 2005 Zodiac Flea Seminar which helped develop my knowledge of fleas and how to treat them.

I strive to run a clean and safe salon where your pet can spend the day getting the best treatment possible.  With my training and love animals I promise I will do my best to meet your needs and expectations.  Doggie Stylz Pet Grooming, "Quality care for your pet!"

My name is Meghan Clarke, owner and operator of Doggie Stylz Pet Grooming. I developed my love of animals through my mother Wendy when I was a child.  I used to go into her closet when I was younger and look through her breed books, always eager to ask if she had ever seen this kind of dog or that kind of dog.  If we were out somewhere no matter what the dog looked like I would ask her what kind it was and she was sure to have an answer.

Meet Wendy Clarke, my mom.  Wendy is a grooming assistant here at Doggie Stylz.  Bathing, ear cleaning, nail clipping, brushing and giving lots of love to each and every dog is what she does best.  The time and care she puts into every dogs bath is truly incredible, keeping them as calm and relaxed as possible.

Wendy's love of animals started very early in her life when she would come home and bring her father some kind of pet she had found.  Whether it be a lost dog or just a frog from the river.  She went on to work in pet retail and retail for a number of years before going to school to be a secretary.

In 2005 Wendy completed an Animal Sciences Course from Education Direct and a Pet First Aid course.  She also runs a website dedicated to helping homeless pets become spayed and neutered along with educating the public about puppy mills and other pet related info.  www.voiceforcanines.net

Besides working at Doggie Stylz Wendy is also a wife, a mother to my brother and I, four rescue dogs, a toy poodle and a rescued cat.
